Camp Sacajawea

Our mission is to create an environment where positive experiences build positive values: confidence, competence, self-reliance, caring and sharing.

New activities are introduced every year as well as week-to-week. While our much-loved outdoor programs such as boating, swimming and archery do stay the same, you should find your child exhibiting new and/or improved skills as she progresses in these activities.

Our day camp combines the traditional elements of camp – cookouts, crafts, hiking and campfires with diverse program areas, which may include archery, canoeing, nature and outdoor skills, performing arts, and sports and games. Swimming and water activities are offered daily. Other activities will vary during the week.

Girls will have opportunities to develop leadership and decision-making skills rooted in the values of the Girl Scout Promise and Law.

"Girl Planning" where girls are given an opportunity to take an active part in choosing and/or scheduling activities, is incorporated into all programs at Camp Sacajawea. Girls also receive informal educational opportunities which, through interactive experiences, inspire self-esteem, respect for others, team-building and community responsibility.

The Camp Sacajawea staff is committed to ensuring fun-filled days and a safe, memorable day camp experience for every girl. Programs and activities are designed to be of interest to girls and delivered according to Girl Scout principles, Safety-Wise guidelines and American Camp Association standards. Camp Sacajawea is accredited by the American Camp Association and certified by the New Jersey Youth Act.
