Camp Sacajawea
General Information

Membership — Camp Sacajawea is open to all girls ages 4-15. Girls do not need to be an active, registered Girl Scout to attend day camp. However, a one time additional fee of $10 per child is charged at the time of Day Camp registration for non-Girl Scouts.

Keep with a friend — If you would like to be in the same unit with a friend, you must be in the same Girl Scout level and the paperwork for both campers must be received in our office within two weeks of each other.

Cookie Credits and Nutty Money — Cookie Credits and Nutty Money may be applied toward day camp fees. Be sure to enclose your certificate(s) with your camp registration form. Cookie Credits are also accepted at the Trading Post and the Council Shops.

July 4th — In consideration of camp being closed, camp prices are pro-rated except Teen Leadership. Prices for Teen Leadership weeks are priced as marked.

Refund Policy — If a camper cannot attend Day Camp for non-medical reasons, any fees paid after March 1, 2008, less a $50 administrative fee, will be refunded upon a written request at least 20 working days prior to the first day of scheduled attendance. Refunds for medical reasons will be honored only when accompanied by a physician's statement in writing explicitly stating why your daughter cannot participate.

Refunds WILL NOT be given for days missed during a week, nor can missed days be "made up" during another week. Full refunds are available before March 1, 2008.

Change Fee — After May 1, 2008, requests for changes in weeks, changing units or instructional swim schedules will result in a $15 fee per change for administrative costs.

Payment Plan — Payment plans may be available for those who wish to register for multiple weeks of camp, but must be arranged prior to the start of day camp. The first week you register for must be paid in full; payment plans may not extend past the last week of day camp. Each week you register must have a $100 deposit and the balance for each week of camp must be made in full no later than one week prior to the 1st day of that camp week.

Exception: Horse programs must be paid in full at time of registration in order to reserve a saddle.

Health Requirements — Girls, by New Jersey law, cannot participate in day camp without completed Health History forms.Please return the completed form as soon as possible, but no later than two weeks prior to the first day of camp. If the Health History, Sign-Out Sheet, Code of Ethics and Photo Release form are not in camp two weeks prior to a camper's first day, a $25 late fee will be charged before the camper is permitted in camp. Your daughter will be required to stay with the health supervisor until you can return with the completed papers.

Confirmation Packets — Registration confirmation packets will be sent by mail or e-mail. In order to receive a confirmation packet, the Day Camp application must be completed and payment must be included. Incomplete information will cause delay in processing your registration. Registrations are processed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Camp Sacajawea is ACA accredited and complies with the New Jersey State Youth Act and GSUSA Safety-Wise standards.

Arrival/Departure Times — Camp Sacajawea Summer Day Camp is in session from 9 am to 4 pm. Private drop-off transportation should take place no earlier than 8:45 am. Private pick-up should take place no later than 4:00 pm.

Extended Day — Before and after care is available for an additional fee. Before care hours are from 7 am to 9 am and after care hours are from 3:45 pm to 6 pm. Snack is provided.

Camp Sacajawea Staff — Camp Sacajawea Staff is comprised of adult and youth counselors. All staff members are required to attend Pre-Camp Training. The staff ratio is generally 10 campers to one staff member.

Special Needs — If you have a camper that needs special accommodations of any type, please advise us in writing at the time of Day Camp registration. Please feel free to call (800) 785-2090 ext. 127 and leave a message describing your specific need.

Lunch and Snack — Girls are required to bring their own lunch (except Wednesday) and snack labeled with her name. Water is available at all times.

Wednesday Cookouts — Girls choose a menu and prepare their own lunch, outdoor-style! They do not need to bring lunch, but they do need snack(s).

Trading Post/Camp Store — The Trading Post is our Camp Sacajawea Store! We have a variety of items for your camp needs as well as camp souvenirs.

Camp T-Shirts — As our way of thanking each camper for choosing Camp Sacajawea, each girl will receive one camp T-shirt. Please be sure to choose a size when completing the registration form. If you do not choose a size on your application, your child will receive an Adult Small.
